PORTLAND – Lucille Blanchette, 80, of South Portland, died July 5, 2010, at Fallbrook Woods, Portland. She was born June 11, 1930, at Eagle Lake, daughter of George D. and Phebienne Nicknair Blanchette. She graduated from Fort Kent High School in 1948, and Aroostook School of Commerce in 1950. Lucille worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years in their offices in Augusta and Presque Isle. She was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees. She was a communicant of Holy Cross Church, where she also served as a Eucharistic minister. Lucille was predeceased by her parents; two sisters, Geneva Stevenson and Violet Daigle; and two brothers, Hampy Blanchette and Albert Blanchette. She is survived by a sister, Simone Blanchette of South Portland; and brothers, Leo Blanchette of Ellsworth and Eudo Blanchette of Bristol, Conn., or Plainville, Conn.; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 3-7 p.m. Thursday, July 8, at Conroy-Tully Crawford, South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland, where prayers will be recited 9:15 a.m. Friday, July 9. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Church, corner of Broadway and Cottage Road, South Portland. Interment will be after at New Calvary Cemetery, 1461 Broadway, South Portland.
