BANGOR and KEENE, N.H. – Paula J. Savoy, 72, passed away peacefully July 1, 2010, in Bangor. She was born Paula J. Donnelly, Sept. 11, 1937, in Keene, N.H., daughter of the late Bertha and Paul Donnelly. Paula was a graduate of Thompson School of Nursing, Manchester, N.H. She was employed as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Bangor, for most of her career. She was married to Bill Savoy of Orono, who predeceased her in 1987. She will be missed by several close friends and a companion, Tyler Thompson of Hancock Point, with whom she enjoyed extensive sailing and skiing. As an act of kindness Paula donated her organs to needy recipients. A memorial Mass will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor. Interment will be held at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Keene, N.H., where Paula’s husband and parents are laid to rest. Gifts in Paula’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
