NEWBURGH – Lucie E. Hamel, 67, went home to the Lord July 16, 2010. She was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Waterville, daughter of the late Charles and Marie Talbot. Lucie is survived by her husband, Richard “Dick” Hamel of Newburgh; sons, David McIntyre Jr. of Bangor and Alfred McIntyre and wife, Sherelle, of Newburgh; stepdaughters, Joanne Southern and husband, Tom, of Leavenworth, Kan., and Ruth Powell and husband, John, of Skowhegan; grandsons, David III, Bradley and Marcus McIntyre, all of Newport; granddaughters, Alyssa and Breanne McIntyre of Newburgh; a brother, Raymond Talbot of Waterville; a sister, Cecile Estabrook of Oakland; as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends. Lucie was predeceased by her first husband, David McIntyre Sr. Before retirement Lucie worked as a private care attendant, where she provided comfort and care for the elderly. Lucie’s door was always open to the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed animals, country drives, the ocean, playing guitar, studying the Bible, praising the Lord and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, strong faith, guidance and kind heart. She will live forever in our hearts. Family and friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where the Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. A service of thanksgiving and remembrance for the life of Lucie will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Matthews Catholic Church, 70 Western Ave., Hampden.
