WINTERPORT – Joan (Trubee) Ferland, 79, died Monday, July 19, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born July 18, 1931, in Troy, N.Y., the daughter of John and Marie (Clarkson) Trubee. Mammie quietly touched many lives and will be long remembered for her famous mammie buns, mountain of mittens and sense of humor. Joan loved life and anyone that knew her, knew of her love for animals. Joan is survived by her loving husband and “buddy” of 61 years, Henry L. Ferland Sr.; children, Rachel M. Parrish of Sioux Rapids, Iowa, Henry L. Ferland Jr. of Windham, John A. Ferland of Hudson, Nancy F. Burns of Winterport, David J. Ferland of Augusta and Keith W. Ferland of Apache Junction, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brothers, John K. Trubee of New York, David L. Trubee of Bowdoinham and William Trubee of Wisconsin; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to share in conversation and refreshments after the service at the Brookings-Smith Family Reception Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
