GLENBURN – Joseph E. Dudley, 85, died July 28, 2010, at his home. He was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Dixmont, son of Joseph and Ethel (Taylor) Dudley. After school Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a World War II veteran. He enjoyed a career as a carpenter and brick mason. Joseph was a member of Norman N. Dow Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1761, Bangor; American Legion Post No. 211, Glenburn; and Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church. He also enjoyed his time as a troop greeter at Bangor International Airport. Joseph is survived by his children, Joseph E. “Jody” Dudley of Glenburn, Yvonne Hodgkins and her husband, Dennis, of Prescott, Ariz., and George E. Dudley and his wife, Joan Blouin, of Etna; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Aaron, Jonathan and Matthew; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Joseph was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Lenora (Braley) Dudley. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Lakeview Cemetery, Glenburn, with Pastor Gregory Dubois, of Glenburn Evangelical Covenant Church, and Pastor Aaron Dudley, of Machias Christian Fellowship, co-officiating.
