SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Shirley “Sherl” Milford Willey, 69, died Aug. 4, 2010, at Mount Desert Island Hospital. He was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Bar Harbor, the son of Guilford B. and Marjorie E. (Ash) Willey. His love of life and taking care of his family, and his special times with his grandchildren were the highlights of his days. He was a member of Tremont Masonic Lodge and Knights of Pythias, and the most official, unofficial member of Southwest Harbor Fire Department. Sherl is survived by is beloved wife of 48 years, Alberta Willey; two sons, Scott William Willey and wife, Lisa, and Thom Ash Willey and wife, Karen; one brother, Berten Willey; four granddaughters, Brittany, Toni, Cara and Madison Willey; stepgrandson, Thomas A. Horne, all of Southwest Harbor; several nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Clayton and Arnold Strout. He was predeceased by his parents. Services will be announced at a later date.
