MILLINOCKET – “I did it my way.” William Lewis Schweickhardt, 62, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2010, at a Millinocket hospital. Bill was born March 27, 1948, in Woodbury, Tenn., to Donald and Miriam Schweickhardt. He grew up in the St. Louis area. Later he moved to Standish, working for Sylvania. After several years Bill got a job with Portland Fire Department, starting as a rookie and ending his career as a lieutenant at Bramhall, Portland. Four years ago he and Debbie moved to Millinocket to enjoy their retirement with their four dogs and six cats. Bill is survived by his wife, Debbie; a daughter, Sherri Schweickhardt of South Paris; son, Joshua Schweickhardt of Lincoln; a stepson, Richard Estes and his wife, Theresa, of Norton, Kan.; a granddaughter, Nicole Schweickhardt of Panama City, Fla.; and Richard’s three children, Kiana, Emily, and Aaron Estes, all of Norton, Kan. The family gives a special thank you to Millinocket Rescue Unit for getting Bill to the hospital. At Bill’s request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home.
