WESTFIELD – Alice Gregory, 95, passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at a Dexter nursing home. She was born May 15, 1915, in Easton, one of 12 children to Thomas and Susan (Taylor) Lunney. Alice was an avid reader, and enjoyed knitting mittens, socks, sweaters and afghans for her loved ones. She spent time crocheting, dancing and cooking. She used to work in the spring and fall for local farmers, as well as at W.T. Grant Department Store, Extension Service and as a voting poll clerk. She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Bridges and her husband, Ron, of Enfield, Conn., and Amelda Ross and her husband, Al, of Dexter; six grandchildren, Lori Sullivan of Holyoke, Mass., Chris Rideout and his wife, Roxanne, of Newington, Conn., Don Rideout and his wife, Jackie, of Hampden, Debra Colcord and her husband, John, of Madison, N.H., Ron Bridges and his wife, Dawn, of Presque Isle, and Sam Bridges and his wife, Kathleen, of Enfield, Conn.; a brother, Boyd Lunney and his wife, Dawn, of Cape Elizabeth; a sister-in-law, Mable Lunney of Presque Isle; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Sharon Gregory; and a granddaughter, Kathryn Ross Hall. A graveside service will be conducted noon Saturday, Aug. 28, at Marshall Cemetery, Westfield, with Pastor Lois Field officiating. A celebration of life will continue after the service at the home of Albert and Sadie Billings.
