EAST MILLINOCKET – James “Jimmy” Provenzano, 96, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born Nov. 20, 1913, in Plantania, Italy, son of Felix and Carolina (Bonadio) Provenzano. Jimmy worked for Great Northern Paper Co., East Millinocket, for many years and retired from there. He enjoyed working with radios and electronics, as well as guns and going target shooting. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Thompson of East Millinocket; two granddaughters, Ann White and her husband, Mark, of West Enfield and Mary Hanson and her husband, Joel, of Enfield; five great-grandchildren, Sam Lyons, Stephanie Currie, Laycee White, Christopher Hanson and Rachel Hanson; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was predeceased by his wife, Mary (Ianello) Provenzano; a sister, Mary Bonadio; and a brother, Michael Provenzano. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at Lamson Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket.
