LINCOLN – Jeraldine H. “Jeri” Washburn, 88, passed away Aug. 24, 2010, at our local health facility. She was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Lincoln, to Maurice and Mattie (Price) Pond. Jeri raised five children while working numerous jobs outside the home. She was well known for her cooking abilities, especially her lemon doughnuts. She was very involved with all of her children and later, with her many grandchildren. She fished, roller-skated, snowmobiled, biked, swam, bowled and danced with the best of them. She is survived by her children, Tim Washburn and his wife, Mary, Tonya Martin and her husband, Dick, Harry Washburn and his wife, Sheila, Thala Bard and her husband, Arthur, and Jennifer Sibley and her husband, Leslie; 16 grandchildren, Steven, Andrew, David, Shane, Shannon, Renee, Jason, Caleb, Mike, Stephanie, Jessica, Chris, Terin, Ryan, Leshia and Erin; 13 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dale Pond and Sheila Day; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Freeland B. “Bunny” Washburn; a granddaughter, Nicole Severance; brothers, Stanley and Warren; and sisters, Margie, Lois, Lorraine and Ruthie. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Community Evangel Temple, River Road, Lincoln, with the Rev. Jason Johnstone officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery.
