BUCKSPORT – Florence Eleanor Russell, 75, died peacefully Sept. 1, 2010, at her home. She was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Glenrock, N.J., the daughter of Robert B. and Doris B. (Burbank) Parker. Eleanor attended and graduated from Seaton Hall. She was married for 39 years to her husband, John Russell Jr., who predeceased her, worked as an electrocardiogram technician for three years, and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Deer Isle, and Deer Isle Grange for 40 years. She sang in church choirs for 29 years, enjoyed knitting, reading and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Eleanor is survived by one son, John Russell III and his wife, Kayline “Kay,” of Bucksport; grandsons, Nathan and Adrian of Bucksport; a niece, a nephew and a cousin. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Richard Parker. Visitation for family and friends will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport, where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. A reception will be held after the funeral at Edward K. Arey Community Center, River Road, Bucksport.
