HERMON AND BREWER – Gail Ann (Littlefield) Sinclair, 61, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 28, 1949, in Bangor, the second daughter of Linwood and Eula (McGown) Littlefield of Hermon. Gail graduated from Hermon High School in 1967, earned her licensed practical nurse certificate and her registered nurse degree from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, and was a licensed social worker, certified rehabilitation registered nurse, certified case manager and certified brain injury specialist. Her medical career spanned 43 years and included stints at Eastern Maine Medical Center, St. Joseph Hospital, James Taylor Osteopathic Hospital, Penobscot Valley Nursing Home, Commonsense Housing, Eastside Rehabilitation and Living Center, and Brewer Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was well known in the medical field and respected for her knowledge, work ethic and commitment to her clients, patients and their families. Gail dedicated countless hours to school and sporting activities during her son’s school years. She was a Hermon High School CATCH Team organizer and boosters club member. She spent endless hours keeping score books, selling refreshments and transporting boys to sporting events. At Husson College she organized the basketball team’s annual fundraisers and was a surrogate mother to many team members from away. She is survived by her beloved son, Donald Richard “Rick” Sinclair Jr. and his wife, Lori; her granddaughter and namesake, Abigail Elaine; her grandson, Bryan Robert, all of Brewer; her two special sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaynor and Jim Reynolds, and Karen and John Schacht, all of Hermon; and her nieces and nephews, Victoria Reynolds and husband, Chuck Nadeau, Marc Reynolds, Jill Schacht and Joseph Schacht. She also leaves behind two treasured aunts, Juanita Littlefield of Bangor and Barbara Oldenburg of Hermon; cousins, Roxanna Gould, Ralph Harris, Rhonda Crowley, Kate Hoak, Loretta Opsal and Leitha Robinson; cherished friends, Judith Varnum, Cindi Stuber, Joanne Nevells, Helen Pettit, Kathy Blanchard and countless others. Gail was predeceased by her loving parents; her uncles, Lloyd Littlefield and Roger McGown Jr.; her aunt and uncle, Ralph and Kathleen Harris; and her springer spaniel, Polo. Gail will be remembered for always putting others first. She loved and was loved deeply by her family and many, many friends and was affectionately called “GG” for Grammie Gail by her adored Abi. She will be missed with the greatest of sadness and remembered with the greatest of joy. Her family thanks the staffs of St. Joseph Hospital, Eastern Maine Medical Center and Brewer Rehabilitation for their tender loving care of Gail. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at All Souls Congregational Church, 10 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Dr. James L. Haddix, pastor and teacher, and the Rev. Renee U.
