FORT KENT – Rella (Nadeau) Daniels, 91, died Sept. 12, 2010, at her residence. She was born Feb. 23, 1919, the daughter of Ernest and Mamie (Soucy) Nadeau. She was a World War II Gold Star wife whose husband, Bern, was killed in action July 12, 1944, during the Hedgerow Warfare near Saint-Lo, France. Rella is survived by two brothers, Joseph Nadeau of Fort Kent and George Nadeau of Farmington, Conn.; her sister, Mildred McCarthy of Gloucester, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bernhard Daniels; two sisters, Theresa Morneault and Lydia Brown; and two brothers, Everett and Edgar Nadeau. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, at Ashland Municipal Cemetery. Services are being handled by Daigle Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent.
