ASHLAND – Dorothy C. Poitraw, 69, died Sept. 14, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1940, in Ashland, daughter of Andrew and Cecile (O’Clair) Poitraw. Dot graduated from local schools and received her certificate as a personal care assistant from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. She also worked for several restaurants in the Ashland area. Dot loved being around people and was an avid card player. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Unit No. 9699, Ashland, and was also active in her parish church at St. Mark’s. She is survived by two daughters, Michelle Kopteros of Chicago and Lisa Kopteros of Sheridan; two sons, Peter Kopteros and his wife, Martha, of Orrington, and Christopher Willette of Sheridan; one brother, Roland Poitraw and his wife, Jean, of Ashland; one sister, Ellen Boulier of Sheridan; two grandsons, Demetre and Dominic; her second husband, Norman Willette; and 10 nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, James Kopteros; one brother, John Poitraw; and sister, Clairette Hebert. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until the time of funeral Mass 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Ashland.
