The first-ever New England Gaming Summit is being held at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville,
Conn. this week. Though casinos have been able to win support in other parts of the
country, New England has been somewhat resistant to the activity. Is it just a matter of
time until each New England state has several casinos? Or will New England’s Puritan
heritage hold sway and keep people wary of permitting such gambling establishments?
Will Maine remain a hold-out? Or will this year’s ballot referendum see a casino
approved for Oxford County?
