MEDWAY – Dale Marie Leavitt, 63, wife of Otis Leavitt Jr., passed away Sept. 28, 2010, at her home. She was born April 21, 1947, in Lincoln, daughter of Ralph and Molly (Marston) Hanscom. She loved to knit and crochet, and loved all sports, including racing, hockey and baseball. She enjoyed being at home with her family. In addition to her husband, Otis, she is survived by a daughter and three sons, Elise Rideout and Lee Hockridge of Passadumkeag, Kevin Leavitt and Dawn of Richmond, Kurt Leavitt and Laurie of East Millinocket and Keith Leavitt and Michelle Fogg of Medway. Her “little munchkins” were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: seven grandchildren, Tessa Rideout and Adam Cyr, Dale Nielsen, Elizabeth Leavitt, Emily Leavitt, Julien Leavitt, Ashley Leavitt and Ryan Leavitt; and two great-grandchildren, Zachary Wills and Owen Cyr. She also leaves a sister, Peggy Cole and Sheldon; and a brother, William “Bill” Hanscom and Cindy, all of Lincoln. She was predeceased by her parents. The family thanks hospice for the excellent support they have rendered during Dale’s illness. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln.
