MADAWASKA – Delia S. Lagasse, 93, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at a Madawaska health care facility. She was born Nov. 20, 1916, in St. David, daughter of the late Theodule and Elise (Hebert) Sirois. Delia worked as the town librarian for 42 years. She was also well known for selling Avon products in Madawaska and Frenchville for many years. She liked crocheting and reading in her spare time. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four daughters, Aurella Painter of Florida, Fern Beaupre and her husband, Archie, of Coventry, Conn., Charlene Dionne of Farmington, Conn., and Leola Bouchard and her husband, Ron, of Georgia; one son, Leo Lagasse and his wife, Lil, of Wells; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Delia was predeceased by her husband, Aurele Lagasse, in 1951; her daughter, Helen Terranova; and two brothers, Paul and Lucien Sirois. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at St. David Church. Family and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Lajoie Funeral Home.
