TRENTON – Marilyn M. Haslam, 73, died Oct. 10, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 2, 1937, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Charles J. and Phyllis (DeBeck) Murch. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. In her younger years she enjoyed spending summers at Molasses Pond. She was the first X-ray technician at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Don and Marilyn enjoyed their travels together to Florida, several cruises and many Shrine trips. She was an avid Red Sox fan and was excited to have attended a recent Red Sox game. She also enjoyed skiing, sailing, golfing and tennis. She especially loved spending the Christmas holiday with her family. Marilyn was a 50-year member of Irene Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Methodist Church of Franklin and YMCA. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Donald A. of Trenton; son, Gary W. Haslam and wife, Wendy R., of Verona; daughter, Sharon E. Worcester of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Williams and husband, CJ, of Waterville and Ross H. Worcester of Southwest Harbor; brothers, Charles J. Murch Jr. of New Hampshire, Sydney Murch and wife, Carmelle, of Merrimack, N.H., and Wayne Murch and wife, Martha, of Franklin; sisters, Dolores York and husband, Dennis, of New Jersey and Irene Soper and husband, Richard, of Verona; brother-in-law, Albert May of Pennsylvania; many nieces and nephews; and a close friend, as well as a golfing partner, Julie Bromley. She was predeceased by a sister, Leona. Calling hours will be 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14.
