OLD TOWN – Raymond A. Perkins Sr., 62, passed away Oct. 9, 2010, with his family and friends by his side. He was born July 10, 1948, son of Florine (Coughlin) and the late Alfred E. Perkins. Raymond grew up in Old Town and graduated from Old Town High School. After high school, he enlisted in the Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam from March 1968 to November 1969. Raymond was an avid golfer and cribbage player and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3381, Old Town, where he was a past commander. In addition to his mother, Raymond is survived by his children, Ray Perkins Jr. and his wife, Cheri Perkins, Dawn Drouin and her husband, Christian Drouin, and Paul Gauvin and his wife, Belinda Gauvin; four siblings, Ruth, Larry, Gail and Linda; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Raymond will be sadly missed, and always loved and remembered by many friends and family. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments in Raymond’s honor 1 p.m. Nov. 13 at VFW Post 3381, 64 Water St., Old Town. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW in Raymond’s name.
