BRAD REED
The Belfast quarterback rushed for 108 yards and passed for 96 more in leading the Lions to a 34-28 Class B win over Gardiner on Friday. He ran for one touchdown and passed for another as Belfast knocked the Tigers from the unbeaten ranks.
Small School (Classes C-D)
GRADY MARKIE
A Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln senior running back, Markie set an LTC record with 49 carries while rushing for 271 yards and a touchdown in leading the Lynx past Calais-Woodland 28-26. In his first game as a linebacker, he had 16 tackles, a quarterback sack and two forced fumbles.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
KAYLA RICHARDS
A junior forward for the Presque Isle girls soccer team, Richards tallied three goals in two point-worthy wins for the Wildcats. She scored one goal and assisted on another in a 4-0 win over John Bapst on Saturday before netting two second-half goals in a come-from-behind, 2-1 win over Fort Kent Tuesday. That win moved Presque Isle up to second place in the Heal points with two games to play.
Small School (Classes C-D)
JASMINE ROCKWELL
A senior for the Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook girls soccer team, Rockwell scored five goals in two games. She recorded a hat trick in a 6-2 win over East Grand on Oct. 7 while scoring two goals, including the game-winner, in a 2-1 victory over Woodland on Tuesday.
