FORT FAIRFIELD and VAN BUREN – Deborah “Deb” J. (Green) Gagnon, 83, wife of the late Lawrence B. “Bennie” Gagnon, passed away Wednesday morning, Oct. 27, 2010, at a Van Buren nursing facility, after an extended illness. She was born July 1, 1927, in Bristol, New Brunswick, daughter of Archie and Kathleen (Hannigan) Green. Deb attended Tomlinson Settlement schools and was employed at Potato Service of Presque Isle for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gagnon was predeceased by one son, Franklin Loring; two brothers, Archie and Samuel Green; three sisters, Ferne Lovely, Mary Higgins and Shirley Dumond; and one son-in-law, James DeWitt. She is survived by one son, Thomas Loring and his companion, Bea, of Terryville, Conn.; two daughters, Joan Bryl and her husband, Patrick, of Linden, Mich., and Edith DeWitt of Waterbury, Conn.; one sister, Ann Murphy of Caribou; one daughter-in-law, Rita Loring of Middletown, Conn.; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Private interment will take place at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield, immediately after the funeral service.
