CARIBOU – Edward J. Longley, 60, died unexpectedly Oct. 27, 2010, in Presque Isle. He was born Sept. 29, 1950, in Caribou, son of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Dufour) Longley. Mr. Longley was a 1969 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed at J.M. Huber for more than 20 years, and had more recently begun a new career at McCain Foods. Surviving, in addition to his wife of more than 37 years, Vera (Bragg) Longley of Caribou, are his son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Lisa Longley; his two grandchildren, Lariah and Logan Longley, all of Caribou; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Longley; a sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Donald Guillemette, all of Caribou; his mother-in-law, Glenna Bragg of Washburn; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Mr. Longley was predeceased by a brother, Raymond. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services and military honors will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, from the chapel of Mockler Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Palmer officiating.
