COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Kimberlie Joyce Flowers passed away peacefully in her sleep Oct. 20, 2010. Kim was born Dec. 20, 1975, at Walson Army Hospital, Fort Dix, N.J. Being a daughter in an Air Force family, she spent her childhood living and traveling many places across the U.S. and around the world, including six years in Okinawa, Japan. Kim was very active, athletic and enjoyed cheerleading. She attended high school at Kubasaki High School, Okinawa, Japan; Limestone High School and graduated from Greenville High School in 1994. In 1995, Kimberlie joined a long line of family serving her country in the U.S. Army, as an airborne paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, N.C. She earned her blood wings and was “pinned” by her grandfather, also a former airborne paratrooper/commander, retired Col. Gerald E. Morse. She met and married her devoted husband, Nolan Flowers, also in the Army. She was honorably discharged in 1998. Kimberlie was a stay-at-home mom to her four active boys, a devoted friend and a loving wife. She enjoyed cooking, get-togethers with friends and sharing memories through her photography. She had an outgoing and vivacious nature and a smile that could light up a room. She is survived by her beloved husband, Nolan Flowers of College Station, Texas; the four sons she adored, Brandon, Justin, Tyler and Conner; her parents, retired Senior Master Sgt. Leslie S. and Melinda E. Ashe of Gilby, N.D., and Ms. Susan M. Solich of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister, Mrs. Amanda L. Ashe and husband, Troy Wagstaff, of Bangor; her brother, Robert F. C. Ashe of Fargo, N.D.; her brothers, Logan Pierce and Grant Solich; sisters, Samantha and Hannah Solich, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; grandparents, retired Master Sgt. Floyd L. and Colleen D. Ashe of Shirley Mills, and retired Col. Gerald E. and Helga Morse of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; uncles, retired Master Sgt. Randall K. Ashe of Schererville, Ind., Timothy S. and Laurie Ashe of Somersworth, N.H., Donald E. and JoAnn Morse of Topanga Canyon, Calif., and Gerald E. and Lisa Morse Jr. of Chandler, Ariz.; aunt, Deborah Copeland of Sacramento, Calif.; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband’s parents, Teresa and Dan Flowers; her maternal grandparents, William H. and Myra Joyce Lore, and Elizabeth A. Hainer; and great-grandparents, Wesley and Dorothy Ashe, Selma and Joseph Orr, Stuart and Marion Walton, and Francis and Marjorie Mooney. While we mourn the passing of our daughter, we invite you to join us in a celebration of her life 1 p.m. Nov. 1 at Shirley Church, Shirley Mills.
