CORINTH – Elinor Jane Jackson, 64, died Oct. 28, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 30, 1946, in Bangor, daughter of Lloyd and Leota (Merritt) Ames. Elinor was educated in schools in Kenduskeag and East Corinth. She was a homemaker who enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo and going to yard sales. Elinor was known for her great love for her grandchildren, Danielle, Jennica, Ellie and Lori Jane; and a great-grandson, Hunter. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Jackson and partner, Rick Hyson, of Orono and Deborah Jackson and partner, Cliff Eugley, of Warren; brothers and sisters, Lloyd Ames Jr. and wife, Eunice, of Kenduskeag and Joyce Boone, Ann Lenz, Louine Sullivan, Nancy Campbell, all of Corinth, and Doug Ames and wife, Brenda, of Ohio; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Elinor will also be dearly missed by her longtime and dearest friend, Margaret Call of Bangor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and Charles; and a twin sister, Evelyn. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Kenduskeag Village Cemetery, Kenduskeag, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating.
