SARASOTA, Fla., and OLD TOWN – Peggy (Strout) Young, 87, died Oct. 30, 2010, at a Sarasota, Fla., health care facility, after an extended illness. She was born July 21, 1923, a daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Bateman) Strout. Peggy graduated from Bar Harbor High School, Class of 1941, and attended Westbrook College. Peggy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carleton C. Young Jr. of Sarasota, Fla.; her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Weeks of Lake Saint Louis, Mo.; her son, Carleton C. III and daughter-in-law, Ann Young of Portland; six grandchildren, Joel and his wife, Laura Weeks, Jenny and her husband, Todd Murphy, Lindsay and her husband, Matt Eouse, Carleton C. Young IV, Alice Young and Jack Young; three great-grandchildren, Noah, Grace and Lily Weeks; and her niece, Leslie and her husband, Cal Pounds. She was predeceased by her sister, Natalie Wheaton.
