HERMON – Richard W. “Dick” Clark died Oct. 29, 2010, after a yearlong illness. He was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Biddeford, the son of Josephine (McLaughlin) Clark and Andrew T. Clark III. He grew up in Winterport and served in the U.S. Army. He worked for a time at Winterport Marina, where he had a talent for the finishing trim artistry and lettering on boats. He worked for more than 33 years in the Carpenters Local Union No. 1996. After his retirement he continued to work as a handyman, and as a painter for R&K Construction. Dick was an animal lover who enjoyed gardening and spending time at their camp in Roque Bluffs. He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Margo; his son, Richard Clark of Brewer; daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and John Karnes of Bangor; stepson and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Jane Moody of Levant; stepdaughter, Heather Stuart of Kenduskeag; 13 grandchildren; as well as a brother, Andy Clark and his wife, Liz, of Bangor; sister, Linda Tucker and her husband, Wendell, of Eddington; sister, Sharon Sibley of Winterport; brother, Clayton Rancourt and his wife, Colleen, of Winterport; brother, Harry Rancourt and his wife, Stephanie, of Winterport; and brother, Billy Rancourt and his wife, Samantha. He also left behind his special furry friend, Lilly. A casual service to honor his life will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Community Church of the Open Door, Hampden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dick’s favorite charities: local animal shelters and Pathfinders, which is a program for grieving children, care of Eastern Maine Home Care, 885 Union St., Suite 220, Bangor, ME 04401.
