TOPSHAM – Marion Esther Warren, 97, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, surrounded by her loving family at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick. Marion was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Charleston, a daughter of Ora and Lula Craig Libby. She attended Charleston schools and attended Colby College before graduating from Presque Isle Normal School, where she earned a teaching degree. A homemaker most of her life, she also had worked at a local dress shop in Brunswick. Marion was a member of United Baptist Church, Topsham, and held many positions there. She served as a den mother for the local Cub Scouts and also delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was an excellent seamstress and was active in social church activities and women’s groups. She very much enjoyed going on picnics and nature. Her husband, Reginald E. Warren, died in March 2003. She was also predeceased by a grandson, Scott Blackstone, in 1964; two brothers and a sister. Surviving are two sons, Paul Warren of Topsham and Vernon Warren of Brunswick; two daughters, Cathy Blackstone of Winthrop and Mary Sharp of Gardiner and Florida; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a very close friend, Doug Pietron. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at United Baptist Church, Topsham. Burial will be in the spring at Juniper Cemetery.
