BAILEYVILLE – Chad “Chewy” Martin Casey, 25, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, in an automobile accident in Baileyville. Chad was born Dec. 28, 1984, in Calais, to Janet (Casey) Johnson and Gordon Casey. He graduated from Woodland High School, Class of 2003, and earned his Class A license for truck driving. Chad was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, loved the outdoors, playing pool, NASCAR and spending time with his family. He had a very big heart and was known for his friendliness and devilish smile. Chad was predeceased by his grandfather, Leroy Martin; grandmother, Ruth Casey; aunt, Karen Martin Church; uncle, Glenn Martin; and a cousin, Jason Martin. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Janet and Stephen Johnson; his father, Gordon Casey; his brother, Adam Casey; his grandmother, Avis McIntyre; his grandfather, Henry Casey; aunts and uncles, Stephen and Nancy Lincoln, Debbie Poulzun, Laura Lee Martin, Terry and Anna Casey, Peter and Susan Casey, Cindy and Mike Soucy, Cathy and Jim Moreau, and David Casey; and many cousins, including eight who were special to him, Brent, Monica and Heather Martin, Stephen Jr., Ryan and Damon Lincoln, J.D. McLaughlin and Amy Casey. A celebration of Chad’s life will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, with Pastor Keith Moody officiating.
