MILLINOCKET and AMBAJEJUS LAKE – Chester L. Hamm Jr., lovingly known as “Chuck,” passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010. Chuck was a lifelong resident of the Millinocket area, and was born there June 9, 1958. Chuck graduated from Stearns High School in 1976. He went on to work at Levasseur’s Hardware Store, Great Northern Paper Co. and the East Millinocket Waste Water Treatment Plant. Chuck had a great love of the outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, trap, snow sled and take long rides through the woods. He would never tell where he caught his fish – he would just say, “Chuck’s Pond.” He is survived by his mother, Joan Cogswell and her husband, Don, of Englewood, Fla.; a sister, Gayla Edwards and her husband, Guy, and nephew, Aaron Malone, all of Waltham; his extended family, who gave him unconditional love and support, Brenda and Armand Columbo of Millinocket; sisters, Ann Fiske and her husband, John, of East Millinocket and Jan Markie and her husband, Bruce, of Millinocket; a special niece, Victoria Fiske; his godchild, Kendra Perry; a special cousin, John Levasseur and his wife, Janet, of Oakville, Conn.; his buddies who were always there, Jimmy Nicholson, Steve Martin, George Perry, Carlton Bernier, David Hartley; and many more friends and family, too many to mention. In addition to his father, Chester L. Hamm Sr., Chuck was predeceased by the loves of his life, Carol “CJ” Mackin and Storm. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Millinocket Cemetery with Deacon Danny Watson officiating.
