BEALS – Mina C. Kent, lovingly referred to as Aunt Mina, passed away peacefully Nov. 7, 2010, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Severn, Md. She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Jonesport, daughter of the late Susie and Guy H. Carver. Mina lived most of her life in Beals, where she was a member of Beals Wesleyan Church. She graduated from Jonesport High School in 1936 and attended Maine School of Commerce, Bangor. She was the Beals postmaster for more than 30 years. She enjoyed going to church, church suppers and most of all spending time with family and friends. Mina was predeceased by her husband, Melrose L. Kent; one grandson, Mark Kent; one sister, Sylvina A. Woodward; one brother, Oscar Carver; and special friend, Carroll Worchester. Mina is survived by her son, Guy I. Kent and his wife, Nancy; a grandson, Matthew Kent and his wife, Lori; one granddaughter-in-law, Debbie Kent; one great-granddaughter, Alyssa Kent, all of Maryland; brother, Guy H. Carver Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Beals; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Beals Wesleyan Church, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12.
