OLD TOWN – Mae R. Wickett, 83, died peacefully Nov. 12, 2010, at home. She was born March 15, 1927, in Old Town, a daughter of Clifford and Edith (Drake) McLaughlin. Mae was a kind and caring woman who enjoyed life’s simple treasures: family, family gatherings and reunions, and quiet times. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She is survived by 11 children, Doreen Sanborn and her husband, Carleton, Richard Wickett and his companion, Betty Violette, Rosella Dyer and her husband, Danny, Terry Wickett and his wife, Cristol, Gerry Wickett, Alan Wickett and his wife, Irene, Michael Wickett and his companion, Ginette Caron, Jeffrey Wickett, Donna Lilley and her husband, Craig, Donald Wickett and his companion, Nancy Bartlett, Lorna O’Clair and her husband, Alan; son-in-law, Wayne Robichaud and his wife, Anne Marie; a brother, Paul McLaughlin and his wife, Shirley; a sister, Helen Avery and her husband, Robert; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence, in 1981; a daughter, Starlene Robichaud, in 2005; a grandson, Shawn Sapiel; three brothers, George, Fred “Buster” and Walter; and two sisters, Pearl Wade and Phyllis Sharpe. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A funeral service will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday at New Life Apostolic Church, Bennoch Road, Old Town.
