HINGHAM, Mass. – Arlyne R. (Mills) Bailey, 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010. Arlyne was born in Woodland. She graduated from Caribou High School in 1938. Arlyne was a machinist at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co. in the late 1930s and early 1940s, where she also met her husband, Frank, who predeceased her. She retired after many years with Jordan Marsh Co. Arlyne lived in Jamaica Plain, Mass., for 13 years, and many years in Quincy, Mass., where she and Frank developed a passion for growing roses, and raising cats and other pets. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Bailey; mother of F. James Bailey Jr. and his wife, Carol A. (Norton) of Hingham, Mass., and the late Brian E. Bailey; grandmother of Lauren E. Bailey, husband of Carol A. (Carey) of Hyde Park, Mass.; sister of Ronald Pelkey of Texas, the late Graydon W. Mills, Lendal P. Mills and Inez Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service noon Wednesday, Nov. 17, at East Congregational Church, 610 Adams St., Milton, Mass. Visiting hours will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home, 809 Main St. – Route 18 opposite South Shore Hospital – South Weymouth, Mass. Interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery, Boston.
