VAN BUREN – Clarence A. Thibodeau, 77, died Nov. 12, 2010, at a Van Buren health care facility. He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Lille, the son of Zepherin and Ida (Levasseur) Thibodeau. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of American Legion Levasseur-Farrell Post No. 49, Van Buren. Clarence worked for Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, for a short while prior to moving to Van Buren. He was employed for many years as an automotive mechanic, primarily for Harold Jenkin’s Pontiac dealership. He also worked as a patrolman for Van Buren Police Department for a number of years and was also self-employed as a taxi cab driver in Van Buren. He is survived by three sons, Brian Thibodeau and his wife, Deanna, of Bristol, Conn., Mark Thibodeau of Waltham, Mass., and Alan Thibodeau and his wife, Inez, of New Britain, Conn.; four daughters, Brenda Corriveau and her husband, Steven, of Van Buren, Janice Violette and her husband, Dick, of South Portland, Martine McMahon and her husband, Mark, of Berlin, Conn., and Lisa Thibodeau and companion, Yvon Couture, of Hampden; one sister, Geraldine Martin of Yalesville, Conn.; and nine grandchildren, Meghan, Danny, Stephanie, Sarah, Kaitlyn, Melissa, Amilea, Iliana and Lilly. Clarence was predeceased by his special friend and companion of many years, Diane Sirois, in 1996. He will be sadly missed by Diane’s family: her children, Nancy Beaupre, Min Miller, Linda Castonguay and Jerry Sirois; and her grandchildren, Mailynn, Jean-Louis, Adam, Jeremy, Isaac, Keith, Dean, John, Tammy, Tommy, Julien and Steve. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at the parish cemetery.
