CARMEL and FORT FAIRFIELD – Donna L. (Flannery) Clifford, 68, passed away Saturday morning, Nov. 20, 2010, surrounded by her family at her Carmel home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 9, 1942, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Jerome and Phyllis (Manter) Flannery. She was educated in the Fort Fairfield school system, and in 1960 married the love of her life, Robert E. Clifford, and became a proud wife and mother to four children. After the passing of her husband April 2, 1969, she dedicated her life though a strong work ethic at Fort Fairfield Community General Hospital, several food processing plants and Holiday Inn, Bangor. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was predeceased by one sister, Marlene Flannery; and one brother, Gary Flannery. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Hattie Clifford of Fort Fairfield; three daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie Jo and Rocky DeWitt of Fort Fairfield, Karla and Robert Hall of Carmel and Lynn and Kelly Wells of Farmington; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Cheryl Flannery of Fort Fairfield and Margola and John Spear of Kansas City, Mo.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Lorraine Flannery of Fort Fairfield and John and Sally Flannery of Patten; 12 grandchildren who were the light of her life, Carroll Parady Jr., Randy Parady, Amy McLellan, Annette McLaughlin, Mandy (DeWitt) Reyes, Dustin Hall, Meagan and Travis DeWitt, Christopher, Katlyn, Mackenzie and Dawson Wells; several great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews; and a supportive lifelong friend, Evelyn Leonard of Bangor. Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield. where a celebration of Donna’s life will be conducted 1 p.m. with the Rev. Vaughn Martin and Cheryl Grass officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the interment service at Veterans of Foreign Wars Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
