CHESTER – Hazel Stevens Rudolph, 95, died peacefully Nov. 21, 2010, at Colonial Health Care, Lincoln. She was born Aug. 21, 1915, at home in Lee, the daughter of Ralph and Edith (Delano) Coffin. Hazel graduated from Lee Academy, Class of 1933. After working at Forster Mfg. Co., Inc., to earn money to further her education, she attended Brunswick Nursing School. After graduation, she worked for many years nursing at Workman Hospital, Lincoln Hospital and Eastern Maine Medical Center, and after retiring she worked as a home health nurse. Hazel took a leave from nursing in the middle of her career as a nurse to run and operate three restaurants. Hazel was a member of Penobscot Valley Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Lincoln, and American Legion Auxiliary, Lee. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. She will also be missed by her many patrons, especially for her graham cracker and lemon pies. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Whitney of Chester; her stepdaughters, Carol Batchelder and her husband, Ronald, of Chester and Donna Davis of Lincoln; a very special niece, Ellen Malone and her husband, Ted, of Lexington, Md.; grandchildren, Wayne Whitney and his wife, Marie, of Topsham, Lisa Jordan and her husband, Alan, of Chester, Karen Pullen and her husband, Richard, of Lincoln; great-grandchildren, Gregory Jordan and his wife, Jessica, of Chester, Cole Whitney and Morgan Whitney of Topsham, Whitney Jordan of Chester and Kali Pullen of Lincoln, Derek Pullen of Albany, Ga., Scott Pullen of Virginia Beach, Va., and Justin Wyman of Bingham; stepgrandchildren, Ernest Norwood of Bangor, Timothy Norwood and his wife, Sarah, of Chester, Miranda and her husband, Jason Brown, of Florida, Autumn Davis of Lincoln and Amanda and her husband, Dennis Ginn, of Lincoln; and great-stepgrandchildren, Anelise and Caroline Norwood, Sage Brown, Jeremy Ireland, Trevor Stanhope, Austin and D.J. Ginn. She also leaves her special companion, Snowflake. Friends may call 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Roy Richardson officiating. Interment will be at Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to First United Methodist Church choir, Lincoln.
