VAN BUREN – Janet R. Roy, 63, died unexpectedly Nov. 18, 2010, at her sister-in-law’s home in Holden. She was born June 26, 1947, in Van Buren, the daughter of Ovide and Gladys (St. Pierre) Lapointe. Janet was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 49, Van Buren. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Gilman F. Roy Sr.; one son, Gilman F. Roy Jr. and his companion, Amber Shriner, of Van Buren; four sisters, Stella Violette and husband, Clarence, of Van Buren, Helen Page and husband, Fred, of Caribou, Robertine Parent and husband, James, of Glastonbury, Conn., and Leila Dufour and husband, Dave, of Cyr Plantation; and two grandchildren, Chase and Sierra Roy. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Percy, Donald, Ronald and Robert Lapointe. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou, at a later date. A gathering for family and friends will be afterward at the American Legion Hall, Van Buren.
