MONROE – Margaret “Peggy” Ellsworth Fogg, 68, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, surrounded by her family after a brief illness. Peggy was born Oct. 15, 1942, in Providence, R.I., to William Denton Curtis and Mary Jeannette (Fisher) Curtis. Peggy graduated from Cumberland High School, Cumberland, R.I., attended the University of Maine, Orono, and ultimately received her Bachelor of Science degree in social work from University Without Walls, Providence, R.I. Peggy was employed by Federated Incorporated, Kinney Jewelers and with the University of Rhode Island Extension Program. She moved to the Ellsworth area with her daughters in 1977, where she was employed with Washington Hancock Community Agency and later served as deputy director of Eastern Area Agency on Aging, Brewer, until her retirement. Peggy was an avid reader, a great cook, a music enthusiast and a movie buff. She was also a huge fan of the Public Radio Program, “A Prairie Home Companion.” She spent a considerable amount of time during the summer months at her camp on Lower Lead Mountain Pond and loved to explore the beautiful back roads and lakes across Maine. Peggy is survived by her lifetime love and husband, Randy of Monroe. She is also survived by her daughters, Lori (Dumond) Griffin and partner, Gary Tilton, of Boothbay Harbor, and Claudia (Dumond) Henderson and her husband, Henry, of Newton, Mass.; sister, Anne M. Curtis of Lamoine and Newton, Mass.; grandchildren, Curtis Griffin, Ava Henderson and Lida Henderson; and stepdaughters, Amy Peplowski and Cora Garrod, and their children. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews; her cat, Mini; and dog, Dewey. She was predeceased by her parents; and her sister, Mary C. Yeo. Please join the family in celebration and remembrance noon Friday, Dec. 3, at Monroe Town Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Monroe Library, Town of Monroe Library, 8 Swan Lake Ave., Monroe, ME 04951. A spring service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery, Ellsworth.
