WINTERPORT – Sharon Louise Anderson, 50, passed away Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, in the presence of those that she loved. Sharon fought bravely and hard against cancer. She was an inspiration to the many people that were blessed to have her in their life. The daughter of Raymond and Gay Anderson, she grew up in Wells, graduating from Wells High School. A bright scholar and an avid athlete, Sharon graduated from nursing college at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute. Kenneth Smith and Trevor Lea-Smith are her sons from her first marriage. A self-taught, master finish carpenter, she helped to instill in her sons a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the beauty and intricacy of the world around them. Sharon’s accomplishments are many and include an associate degree in occupational therapy, graduating summa cum laude from Kennebec Valley Community College; an art degree and a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Maine, graduating summa cum laude; Master of Education in counselor education with a 4.0 GPA – all done while working as a nurse and having two teenage sons at home. Her last career was pipefitting for Cianbro. Sharon reconnected with her childhood love, Regan Young, and they shared a relationship bound by the strongest love until the end. Sharon is survived by her parents, Raymond and Gay Anderson of Vienna; her brother, Paul Anderson and his wife, Annette, of Falmouth; her sister, Julie Anderson and nieces, Jessica Anderson and Michelle Morris, of Litchfield; sons, Kenneth of Winterport, and Trevor and his wife, Anna, of Sandnes, Norway; and her partner, Regan Young. Family and friends will miss her terribly, and will continue to live as Sharon lived: with strength, compassion, equanimity, hard work, and abundant humor. We will miss you Sharon; you will always live through us and through the lives of your grandchildren, and we love you. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at North Vienna United Methodist Church, Vienna.
