DOVER-FOXCROFT – Mary “Abbie” Ellen Lindie, 85, wife of the late Harry E. Lindie Sr., died Dec. 1, 2010, at her daughter’s residence. She was born Feb. 19, 1925, in Winslow, daughter of Harry S. Sr. and Myra (Booker) Grindall. She is survived by a son, Robert Lindie of Corinth; three daughters, Rosemary Lindie of Dover-Foxcroft, Kathleen Lindie of Guilford and Linda Worster of Winslow; a brother, Ansel Grindall and his wife, Dorothy, of Waterville and Florida; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey Butler and his wife, Allison, of Atkinson, and Faith Worster of Winslow. She is also survived by a great-grandson, Hiram Joseph Butler; another great-grandson, Silas Butler, who is due in April; and a special sister-in-law, Dawn Grindall of Waterville. She was predeceased by a son, Harry E. Lindie Jr.; three brothers, infant brother, Willard, Everard B. and Harry S. Jr.; four sisters, Evelyn L. Grindall, Florence G. Rogers, Faylene G. Small and Myra Desmond; and a special niece, Anne Desmond. Abbie will be missed by all who knew her. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft. After the service friends and family are invited to share fellowship at Harter Hall, United Methodist Church, Dover-Foxcroft. Burial will be in the family lot at Hillside Cemetery, Monson.
