LUBEC and CALAIS – Sean Anthony Blake, 33, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, from a sudden stroke, with his loving father and stepmother by his side at a Bangor hospital. Sean was born April 8, 1977, at Down East Community Hospital, Machias, the son of Oliver C. Blake and the late Margaret Louise (Townsend) Blake. Sean was educated in Lubec schools and graduated from Lubec High School, Class of 1995, where he excelled at basketball. He was a poet; his command of words touched the hearts of his friends and family. His sense of humor lifted us all. His quick wit was priceless. He had a gift of being able to impersonate movie stars, friends and many locals. Sean enjoyed music, especially the Beatles. Sean is survived by his daughter, McCartney Kathryne Blake of Jonesboro; his father, Oliver C. Blake and his wife, Virginia; his loving sister, Penny Lane, all of Lubec; his paternal grandfather, Roger L. Blake of Farmington; and his maternal grandparents, Doris and Reginald Munson of Lubec. He also leaves behind his companion, Amy Stendel of Rockland and their “love child,” Pepper the cat; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Louise (Townsend) Blake. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Christian Temple Church, Lubec, with Pastor Gary Look officiating.
