BREWER – We lost our mom, Phyllis I. Healey, Dec. 3, 2010. She fought a long, hard fight with heart disease. She was born Nov. 30, 1932, in Waltham, Mass., daughter of Dennett and Gertrude (Tainter) Spencer. She graduated from Waltham High School in 1952. In 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob Ray. Bob was a military man, allowing them to do a bit of traveling around the world. They eventually settled in Maine. Dad was gone frequently so Mom and I and my sister were at home, and needless to say, Mom ruled the roost and ran a tight ship. Mom always put her family first above all else. She was the best mom in the world. Surviving are daughters, Sharon Stinson and her husband, Gene, of Brewer, and Cindye Burrill and her husband, Brian, of Eddington; and her granddaughters, Amanda and boyfriend, Jason, and Melanie and her boyfriend, James. She will be remembered by friends, Bea Rice and Priscilla Burrill; many special friends, Richard, Kathy and Josh Goodness, Betty and Jim McHale, Peggy Parker, Annie Tardiff, her hairdresser, Bobbi Hudson, who kept her looking good and two inches taller, and Karen and Terry Kearns; her very special home health nurse, Jennifer; and her special nurses at Brewer Rehabilitation – Bernie, you were an angel and we wouldn’t have made it without all of you. She will also be remembered by her very, very special family at Cap’s. She loved every one of you. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Nancy; her grandson, Robbie; her first husband, Bob; and her two brothers, Gene and Dennett. At Mom’s request, no services will be held. Arrangements by Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer.
