LUBEC – Merrill Clifton Tucker, 84, passed away peacefully Dec. 12, 2010, at a Machias hospital. He was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Lubec, the son of Jessie and Ethel (Case) Tucker Known locally as “Kingfish,” he was a successful entrepreneur, commercial fisherman, honorable World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a lover of old time country music and dancing. He will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by his children, Patricia Stanhope, Michael Tucker, George Tucker and Mark Tucker and wife, Rosa Tucker; as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois Tucker; first wife, Victoria Devershian Tucker; and stepchildren, Richard, Gary, Eugene and Diane Guptill. A memorial service in honor of his life will be held in the summer at a date to be announced. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
