SWANS ISLAND – Georgia Heller, 73, died Dec. 31, 2010, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital after a seven-year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. She was born Nov. 29, 1937, in Paterson, N.J., the daughter of George S. and Doris (Leonhard) Pruden. After college Georgia worked as a medical lab technician. She then raised three children. In 1983 she and her husband moved to Swans Island, where she enjoyed her family, friends and gardening. Georgia was always regarded as a sweet, soft-spoken, very caring and giving person. Georgia is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Kenneth, of Swans Island; two sons, David Heller and wife, Kerri, of Springfield, Va., and Michael Heller and wife, Heidi, of Maui, Hawaii; one daughter, Nancy Sue Parker and husband, David, of Lexington Park, Md.; one brother, John Pruden and wife, Ellie, of Berne, N.Y.; one sister, Melissa Knebel and husband, Theo, of Hoosick, N.Y.; and four grandchildren, Chandler and Sydney Parker, and Haley and Jack Heller. Private services will be held at a later date. The family suggests that contributions in Georgia’s memory be made to Swans Island Ambulance Fund, care of Debbie Staples, P.O.
