WOODVILLE – Hazel Althea Fleming, 89, passed away Jan. 2, 2011, with her family by her side in Lincoln. She was born Sept. 28, 1921, in Mattawamkeag, the daughter of Bernard and Inez (Knights) Glidden. Hazel graduated from Mattawamkeag High School, Class of 1941. She is survived by her companion of more than 68 years, George C. Fleming of Woodville. She leaves behind five children, David and Linda Fleming Sr. of Alfred, Emily J. Pelkey and family of Lincoln, Cheryl L. Fleming and family of Vermont, Jo and Sheila of Mattawamkeag and Pamela and Dennis Patterson of Bowdoinham; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma and Vernon Robichaud of Mattawamkeag and Mary Barton of Lincoln. She also leaves behind her dog, Lady. She was predeceased by her parents, two infant children; and a sister, Elsie Sweeney.
