MIAMI and FORT KENT – Herman Joseph Bouchard, 69, passed away quietly the morning of Jan. 9, 2011, in Homestead, Fla., after a period of declining health. Herman was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Fort Kent, son of Edmund and Lucienne (Saucier) Bouchard. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Patricia (Caron) Bouchard of Wallagrass; a daughter, Deanna and her husband, Scott Loring, of Standish, and their children, Brittney, Victoria and Harrison; a son, Bruce and his wife, Gillian Bouchard, of West Lebanon, N.H., and their son, Baxter; a daughter-in-law, Peggy (Moir) Bouchard and her two sons, Bradley and Brian; brothers, Paul and his wife, Leola, and Harold and his wife, Evelyn; sisters, Joella and her husband, Joe Mudry, Pauline Tiezzi, and Joan “Kate” Raymond; sister-in-law, Mona Bouchard; special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Ronald, in 2006; brothers, Joel and Edmund Jr.; and two sisters-in-law, Beulah Bouchard and Norma Bouchard. He was a long standing and proud member of Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Council No. 0352, and American Legion Martin-Klein Post No. 0133, both of Fort Kent. Herman always had a story to tell and his sense of humor provided much laughter to all. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Although he came from a large family he was very close to his wife’s three sisters and their spouses and families. He very much enjoyed visiting his father-in-law, Aurel Caron, 97, whom resides at Crosswinds. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at Daigle Funeral Home, 14 East Main St., Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with full fourth degree honors 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring burial will be held May 16 at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wallagrass. At the request of the family, in Herman’s memory, donations may be made to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis “Lou Gehrig’s Disease,” Columbia University Medical Center, Development Office, 100 Haven Ave., Suite 29D, New York, NY 10032 or to a charity of one’s choice.
