SOUTH YARMOUTH, Mass. – Franklin E. Johnson, 78, husband of the late Dorothy L. (West) Johnson, passed away Jan. 13, 2011, at his home. Mr. Johnson was born and raised on Cape Cod, Mass. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Johnson worked as a plumber for E.F. Winslow Plumbing and Heating for more than 35 years, retiring with the title of “The Best of the Best.” He loved the beaches of Cape Cod, Mass., and all the ocean had to offer, and enjoyed his friends at Doyle’s and a good game of cards. Survivors include his two daughters, Cheryl Woodbury of West Yarmouth, Mass., and Barbara Dumont of Milo; a brother, Arnold T. Booth; sister, Gertrude B. Johnson; as well as grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Christopher and Elizabeth Ancahas; and great-grandchildren, Kaeden Ancahas-Bennett, Evan Kaia Ancahas and DeSean Hunter-Ancahas. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, at Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., South Yarmouth, Mass., where friends and relatives may call 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
