LINCOLN – George Raymond Curtis, 88, husband of Leola (Porter) Curtis, passed away Jan. 25, 2011, at a Lincoln hospital, after a long illness. He was born Aug. 20, 1922, in Lincoln, son of George Raymond and Lida (Gordon) Curtis. George was a mechanic for many years and worked for many local garages. In addition to his wife, Leola, he is survived by a son, the Rev. Donald Littlefield and his wife, Judy, of Glenburn; a daughter, Sharon Rochon of Lincoln; grandchildren, Brent and his wife, Gretchen, Shawn, Melissa and her husband, Patrick, Roxanne and Adria; siblings, Peggy, Mary, Gordon, Vicky and her husband, Eddie, Lorena, Calvin, Newton and his wife, Earline; sister-in-law, Dora; brother-in-law, Melvin; sister-in-law, Lenora Severance; sister-in-law, Doris Porter; sister-in-law, Axie Porter; many nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend, Bonnie McGaw. He also leaves behind his extended family from TimberHouse, his favorite place to eat and visit his many friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Decima, Glendine, Joyce and Frank; and his daughter, Kathleen. A memorial service will be held in the spring.
