NORTH BUCKSPORT – James G. “Buster” Albert, 88, died Jan. 29, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 12, 1922, in Lincoln, the son of John and Arabine (Runnells) Albert.

Buster graduated from Good Will-Hinckley school, June 18, 1940. He served six years in the U.S. Marine Corps, from 1941 to 1947, with two tours of duty in the South Pacific and two years afloat on the CV-33, the USS Kearsarge, an Essex type aircraft carrier. Buster was a member of Felicity Lodge No. 19, AF & AM, Bucksport; Hancock Royal Arch Chapter No. 19, Bucksport; and St. Johns Commandery, Bangor. He was a member and past director of Society of Mayflower Descendents, Albert’s of North America Society, a lifetime member and past commander of Maurice W. Miles Post No. 4527 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Orrington, and a life member and past supreme officer of the Military Order of Cooties.

Buster is survived by his two stepchildren, Forrest Wardwell Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Bucksport and Candice and her husband, Michael Jewett, of Buxton; two special nieces, Mary Mel Bryant of Verona Island and Kelley Hannaford of Orrington; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather, Joseph “Jim” Nason; his first wife of 44 years, Mary “Betty” (Hines) Albert; his second wife of 11 years, Clematis “Connie” (Tripp) Wardwell Albert; three brothers, John, Dalton and Philip Albert; and two sisters, Genevieve Sirois and Beverly Fairfield.

A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at East Orrington Congregational Church with Pastor Carl Schreiber officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments immediately after the service in Carlson Hall. Spring interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Orrington.
