BELFAST – Donna Mae McKay Tidd, 69, died Jan. 29, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Houlton, the daughter of Donald and Erma (Patchell) McKay.

Donna graduated from Houlton High School in 1959. She was a cherished wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a caring friend. She served many in her community through the Philanthropic Educational Organization – PEO, a hospital aide, and as a deacon and member of First Baptist Church, Belfast.

Survivors include her husband, Peter Mark Tidd of Belfast; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah Marie and Peter Marshall of Purcellville, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald Mark and Jodi Tidd of Farmington, Minn.; one grandson, Dylan Mark Tidd Marshall of Purcellville, Va.; and one grandson, Nathan Mark Tidd of Farmington, Minn.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at First Baptist Church, Belfast, with the Rev. Dr. Foster Williams officiating. Graveside service will be held in the spring at Drew Cemetery, Drew Plantation. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations to Waldo County General Hospital, 118 Northport Ave., Belfast, ME 04915.
