BUCKSPORT – Margaret Lois (Strange) Lynch, 99, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Penobscot Nursing Home. She was born July 17, 1911, in Berkley, Mass., daughter of Walter A. and Margaret A. (Harrington) Strange.

She graduated in 1933 from Radcliff University and then received a teaching degree from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. Mrs. Lynch was employed as a teacher and telephone operator.

She is survived by her children, Donald A. Lynch and his wife, Rose Marie, of Orland, Gerald E. Lynch and his wife, Lynn, of New Hampshire, and Judith A. Lynch of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Michael S. Flood, Meribah D. Flood, Stephen E. Lynch, Karen M. Lynch, all of Massachusetts, Terrance E. Flood of Vermont, Christopher R. Lynch and Laura L. Lynch, both of Maine; as well as seven great-grandchildren. The family extends their sincere appreciation and gratitude to all at Penobscot Nursing Home for their kind and compassionate care of Margaret while she was a resident there.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, her body has been donated to science at University of New England, Biddeford.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
